The Word Became Flesh

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

John 1:14

Dear readers and friends, As we celebrate Christmas, we are reminded once again of how God chose to come close to humanity. Not through power or strength as the world understands it, but through humility. The Son of God entered our world as a child—dependent, vulnerable, and born into circumstances that were far from ideal.

The Christmas story does not begin with certainty. It begins with obedience. Mary did not fully understand what lay ahead. Joseph could not see how everything would work out. Yet God was already present, already at work, already faithful to His promise.

This year, our ministry finds itself in a season that calls us to reflect deeply on that truth.

Our founder, whom God used to establish AMI and guide it for many years, is currently unable to carry out his full responsibilities as he focuses on medical treatments. While this situation weighs heavily on our hearts, it has also reminded us of something essential: God’s work has never depended on one individual, no matter how faithful or gifted. It depends on God alone.

In the Gospel accounts of Jesus’ birth, there is no mention of strength or preparedness—only trust. A manger becomes a place of glory. A moment of weakness becomes the doorway to salvation. Christmas teaches us that God often accomplishes His greatest purposes when human strength is limited.

Even in this season of uncertainty, we continue to see the goodness of the Lord. We see it in the prayers of God’s people, in the faithfulness of those who continue to serve, and in the quiet assurance that God’s plans are not interrupted by illness, delay, or change.

As Scripture reminds us, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

This Christmas, we place our hope not in what we can see or control, but in the God who came to dwell among us—Emmanuel, God with us. We trust that He is guiding this ministry according to His perfect will, and that He will continue to sustain it now and in the days to come.

Merry Christmas, and may the peace of Christ be with you all.
